Welcome to Storks and Stars. The astrofertility discussion has been closed. People interested in gender selection using the Jonas Method should read the article on "Storks and Stars" before posting. Then, they can read the posts on astrofertility. If the subject has not already covered, they are invited to initiate a new discussion.

There has been a lot of traffic to this bulletin board by people interested in astrological fertility cycles. There also seems to be a lack of the requisite expertise (on the part of non-professional astrologers) resulting in a situation in which information is often applied imprecisely.

I would like to suggest a number of things.

(1) Read the article on Storks and Stars on this web site BEFORE you ask questions:

http://www.astroheal.com/articles/storks.html

(2) Read the article on fertility on another of my sites:

http://www.astroheal.net/astroenergetics.html

(3) Consider buying the lecture called Water of Life which is available on audio cassette:

http://www.astroheal.com/onlineorders.html

I am aware that people who are surfing the net are often looking for free and/or instant answers to questions. I perceive the purpose of the bulletin board as a place to discuss my own system of medical astrology rather than the place to seek advice for personal issues.

For me, astrology is a very serious profession. It takes a few minutes for computer software to perform calculations, but one never knows how long it will take to interpret the information in the chart. Therefore, if the question is serious enough to post, it might also be serious enough to warrant a proper consultation.

I am going to stick to the governing philosophy of this public forum and request that people ask questions that are related to medical astrology.

With respect to astrological fertility, there are countless possible questions, but what I do not want to do is "private consultations" on a public bulletin board. I also do not want to comment about the material on someone else's web site unless it is in the general context of astrological theory.

I hope people will appreciate that operating this bulletin board is a free service, a donation of my time and energy, and there are 12 other web sites that I operate and six more bulletin boards. I'm offering as much as I can given my personal circumstances and would like to continue but not in the chaotic direction the board was moving.

Blessings,

Ingrid Naiman

I have a question regarding gender selection. What is the sex of a baby if conception happens during a Void of Moon? Also, during a Void of Moon is the sperm influenced more toward the sign of the moon it is moving into or the sign of the moon that it came from?

Hello Ingrid,
It looks like this isn't a very active board, but I'm hoping that you can answer a question regarding Dr. Jonas gender selection method. I just ordered a 12 month calendar for trying to conceive a boy. I have also been learning alot from your website thru the various posts and have a question that I could not find an answer to. Based on Dr. Jonas' theory, the sex of the baby is determined on the sign of the moon is in when actual conception occurs. The calendar I received has 6 months for conceiving a boy and the other 6 months for a girl. Now, if I correctly understood the theory I just stated, it wouldn't matter which month I tried to conceive. It's a matter of timing intercourse around the sign of the moon which changes every 2-3 days and in my case should be a masculine sign. Am I totally off? Could you please enlighten me. Thank you!

The gender depends on the sign the Moon is transiting at the exact moment of conception. Whether the Moon is void of course does not matter, only the polarity of the sign when conception actually takes place.

Mai Tai Tai,

The board has been active at times, but everyone seems to ask the same questions so I stopped answering.

Conception can occur during the lunar phase or normal ovulation cycle. If you want to select the gender, you should use the lunar phase and allow time for the sperm to reach the egg. The gender is determined when the egg is fertilized, not when the sperm is introduced.

Oh, someone answered! Thank you I really appreciate it. I have read the other long bulletin and I think I understand what you said above. What I'm unclear about is why according to my Jonas calendar can I only try for a certain gender every other month? I say this because from reading the other posts, it seems this is a typical format? Also, this idea doesn't exactly flow with the lunar phase theory? I can't seem to find a real explanation to this anywhere on the web?

Are you familiar with the Jonas Method? Is there any association between the moon theory (what you just stated above) and the his method? I thought there was, however, my Jonas counselor has clearly said that I don't have to try to time it according to the sign of the moon because it's not a part of their equation. They just say conception any day during the time period they have given me is a 90% chance of success (approx. 14 day period).

I'm just trying to make sense of it all. I apologize in advance if I have repeated a question or am not following along. This is all new to me. This will be my last baby so I'm just trying to increase the odds.

Thank you for your time!

Mai Tai Tai,

Don't know if you are still checking for an answer, but, according to Jonas, the sex of the child is determined by the sign of the Moon at the time of conception. So, every other month, more or less, you would conceive a girl and obviously a boy in the alternate months.
