Dear Sunshir,

There is a quite significant article on the subject of gall stones on one of my other sites: http://www.kitchendoctor.com/gallbladder.html.
The main problem with the gall bladder is the formation of stones which basically is caused by poor fat metabolism. I see this as high water (or low fire since these two elements balance each other.) However, it can also be caused by other tendencies towards, shall we say, poor carburetor adjustment: any of the docile planets in affliction to each other, especially in fixed signs. This would be the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, or Neptune in stress aspect, including, in this case, the conjunction, to each other. If one of these planets is also retrograde, it simply adds to the problem.

The simple way to see this is not to panic because of the predisposition but to understand the tendency towards metabolic imbalance and to take adequate measures to safeguard the body from forming stones. Turmeric is one of the best spices for this purpose. Put some in a plastic bag and let it sit for a few days and you'll see the bag becomes sticky. I have had some spices eat the lids off my spice jars: cloves, ginger, and once in a while even cardamon. These are precisely the spices needed to stimulate the metabolism and emulsify fats so that stones do not form. Periodic gall bladder flushes are also sensible as is the an apple and/or apple juice fast once a year, like now when the apples are ready to pick. Radishes also reduce the tendency towards stones.

Good luck,

Ingrid
