I have gone through a Uranus/Mars conjunction and have had a heart attack (last July) and emergency surgery - (bowel resection)this March. As Uranus continues to move it will make the same aspect again twice this year.
I am concerned but know I can't hide from it. What can I do to lessen the effects of this aspect? There are other aspects simultaneously but I'm concerned with this one.
I am working on my Uranus return so I'm not a young thing. I am 72 years old. Uranus brought the heart attack at just under 2°. I'm just beginning to study the Uranian planets and Hades was squaring my Sun. In a 90° dial they are closely conjunct. So maybe that's what caused it. My data is Bonnie Paulley 3-11-30, 4:30 am Bonneville, WY. I have practiced astrology since the 70's and am a cosmobiologist. THANK YOU

I WAS REMISS BY NOT SAYING THAT THE MARS IN MY CHART IS ON THE SATURN/URANUS MIDPOINT. i KNOW WHAT "RULES" AND CSI BOTH SAY ABOUT THIS COMBINATION.

Though I don't normally cast the chart for bulletin board questions, I did in your case.
Uranus has an 84-year cycle so you are not experiencing a Uranus return; however, you do have a cluster of planets from Mars in Aquarius to Uranus in Aries that involves five planets. These, in turn, make hard aspects to everything but your Moon, which is the good news.
If I were advising people on how to prepare for a a Uranus seige of this duration, I would suggest first of all cultivating a great spirit of discovery: be curious, open, and flexible in your attitude.
Second, eliminate the obvious sources of excess air. This is because Uranus is a great wind planet so if you already have excess air, as suggested by the two recent medical crises, you cannot risk more. Air is generally caused by poor digestion. When food is broken down by fermentation rather than normal digestion and enzymatic activity, it throws off a gas that causes heart arrhythmias, palpitations, and sometimes attacks. Likewise, when gases accumulate in the lower intestine, they cause dryness, irregularity, and often a great deal of pain.
The place to start is therefore with digestion. At your age, you may need to be more careful than you were as a youngster. You may need supplemental hydrochloric acid, enzymes, and/or herbs and spices that stimulate the secretion of gastric juices and peristalsis. You may also benefit from a colon tonifier and rejuvenator such as triphala, from intestinal flora, and perhaps from increased oil in the diet.
You should avoid the microwave oven, very dry foods, chlorinated water, foods containing things such as pesticide residues and other irritants to the nervous system. In your situation, I would consider a major colon rejuvenative program lasting approximately six months.
This is a short answer, there are other factors that may be contributing to your health instability, but you need to start somewhere and these are realistic places to begin. If you are exposed to mold or anything similar, you might be at greater risk of a further complication.

Thank you very much for your attention and answer to my query. I have already modified my diet. I found out very quickly (and painfully) that the surgery caused me to be lactose intolerant.
I have a lot of work to do on myself and bad aspects yet to come. I know I won't have a Uranus return until 2013, but I'm working on it, I want to outlive the Dr who told me (when I was 40) that I would live till 50, if I was lucky. The way I figure is I already have 22 bonus years in.
Again thank you. Bonnie
