Hi I'm new to this board. I was wondering if you've noticed a particualar astrological configuration that applies to smoking cigarrettes. Other than neptune signatures Thank you

I do not really think you can look at a horoscope and tell who smokes and who doesn't. However, you might be able to tell who would suffer the most if he or she did smoke.

Thank you for responding Do you think that Merc saturn conj could be a factor I'm doing a chart for someone that has merc conj saturn and she has emphysema I also have merc conj saturn and I have bronchitis I have studied alcoholism and I completely agree with the mar/nep as being the signature for that But I'm thinking that hardcore smoking addiction might be a merc/saturn thing. What's your view on this?

FYI
I have a Myercury Saturn conjunction and have never smoked during my lifetime.I also have a Mercury conjunct Saturn square to Neptune so would probably have been a very bad health risk if I ever had smoked....

I would imagine that some sort of compromised AIR situation would be involved, along with some type of addictive factor. It is not as simple as one or two planets really, the whole chart and the total condition of the Moon would need to be addressed.
Hope this helps.

Smoking does not necessarily only affect the lungs. One single cigarette is enough to use up the entire quotient of vitamin C needed by the adrenals. This means that some of the reduction in nervousness many smokers claim as a benefit from smoking is really just a reduction in energy availability and consequently a serious but usually unreported side effect.

Secondly, there are narcotics in many cigarettes, intended to create addiction so to the extent that people are exposed to these types of products, they are potentially activating very deep patterns, probably ones with the Neptune signature as proposed by the person posting the original question.

So far as the consequences go, there are many besides the most feared, which is, of course, lung cancer. The toxicity alone is an issue because every cell would be bathed in nicotine and tar and and other non-nutritive factors associated with smoking.

This said, there are obviously persons who are more susceptible to risk than others and these are the people who need to recognize the risks and manage them.

Hello. I'm new to the board. Very interesting subject for me as I have been a smoker for over 40 years. Other than the Neptune factor, I am unable to distinguish anything else consistent. I am an Aquarian with my sun in the 12th and Pisces rising. The drug factor in nicotine seems very relevant to me as far as Neptune influence in the chart is concerned.

However, I digress. I hope this is alright to ask here. If not, please feel free to delete. I have a friend who is experiencing serious health issues. As briefly as possible, in December 2004, she began to experience severe back pain. An abscess pressing against her spine was discovered and surgery was performed. Two weeks later another surgery to remove another abscess. She spent 2 months in the hospital during which time her kidneys shut down. She is now in rehab with serious swelling in her feet and legs, unable to walk. Her liver and kidneys are functioning well.

She is a Virgo with a tight conjunction between the Rising, Sun and Saturn. Her Moon is in Pisces in the 6th with a loose opposition to the the conjunction in the first. Transiting Uranus has been conjunct her Moon for the past year with Neptune also transiting the 6th and opposing the conjunction in the first house. I'm wondering about glandular issues, etc. I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts they can share. Thank you in advance.
